Of Ignorance and Bliss

 Life Opener
Back to Full Blog

Life has many twists and turns.  I don't necessarily believe in fate, but I don't disagree with it.  There are just some things that you feel in your gut.  Those things that you know are meant to be.  Whether that is self fulfilling prophecy, or the Universe folding itself around a master plan is left to the ages to decide.

I truly believe that you must take destiny by the horns.  To see something so clearly in your mind, heart and being, that the world takes shape around it.  This is what differentiates people of vision from everyone else.  When you see the world as it should be, then make everything else wrap around that, that is creating destiny.

I don't know what my absolute vision is.  I know what some of the pieces are, and what they are not.  I found out recently that for me, ambition is not first in my life.  I came precariously close to losing the things that truly mattered, in large part because I made my ambition a number one priority.

I know now that for every decision you make regarding a relationship, it either withdraws from an emotional bank account or adds to it.  Very rarely is it neutral.  If you overdraw from that account, bad things happen.

I guess where I'm going with this is that each of us should figure out what their destiny is, and wrap their lives around it.  But you have to determine what is truly important to you while you create that destiny.  There is nothing worse than creating a destiny that is totally different from your values.

As part of my personal destiny, I am going to lose 54 lbs.  I currently weigh 204 and I want to be at 150.  I will be using the South Beach Diet as my diet plan.  Last year, I lost 40 lbs with this diet.  (I gained 10 back).

Anyone reading this is welcome to join me on this.  I will share some of my trials and tribulations for this quest, and I hope that some of you will share yours.
