Of Ignorance and Bliss

 Iranian Invasion

Is it just me or is Condoleeza Rice helping to set us up for an Iranian invasion.  I seem to hear the same terrorism / WMD rhetoric we heard a few years ago about Iraq.  Do you think Halliburton has a line on these contracts too?  If not, I think I want a piece of the action.

I see it this way.  Bush is going to need a job soon.  I mean, in two years, he's going to be unemployed.  I figure, I can hire him since he has a few contacts.  He has a proven track record at failing business ventures, but he would probably be a pretty good manager of a janitorial service.

Anyone want to help?

 Today's Great Day

I just recently moved here to Washington from California. Quite a bit different here. Lots of rain. Lots and lots of rain. But as one other Washingtonian says about the weather "Its a wonderfully overcast day, I don't have to squint my eyes at all."

Anyway, that comes off topic as to why it was such a great day. I am an IT Project Manager at a local community college. My first Project was to implement a wireless network complete with authentication and other high tech stuff. Well today was go day for the network, and it all went well. It was one of those "Hell yeah, I am a god" kind of days.

Not the God of course, but A god. Little g, little o, little d, BIG attitude.

So since I am a god today, I will bless all of you, and wish you a Great Day tomorrow.

 Sex, Hooters and IKEA

Today was a great day. The family and I went to IKEA, followed by a trip to Hooters.

IKEA is a great reflection on our times. A huge ass surperstore of foreign looking furniture that feeds our desire for stuff that is cool and different, but cheap enough to call it ours.

Hooters is a great place. Total in your face sexploitation, but totally cool enough to take your family to. The Grilled Cheese Sandwich on the kids menu is awesome. Yes, that's right boys and girls, Hooters has a kids menu. The funny thing is that it has Kids Liver and Onions on it. All of the other items are about 4 bucks. The Liver and Onions however are $23.00. That's awesome.

Sexuality is such a crazy thing in our society. It is used to sell just about everything, but is almost taboo to talk about without the necessary giggling or apologies. We shelter our kids from information about positive relationships that involve sexuality. This is crazy, since we created them through sex.

Also, we confuse sexuality with sensuality. Although they are similar, you can be completely sensual, without having sex, and you can have sex without truly involving the senses beyond getting hard and blowing a load.

Sensuality can be as simple as touching a baby's skin and truly feeling the softness into your soul. When attached to sex, truly feeling everything brings a whole new layer to the mix. Try it. Actually taste, hear, feel your partner.

I'm going to leave you with one simple question.

When was the last time you actually experienced anything? Truly felt it, smelled it, tasted it, saw it, and had it touch you at an emotional level?

 Another day in the Life

I'm sitting here in my underwear, drinking a beer, watching Return of the King on a projector screen, fed by an infocus machine hooked to the DVD player and surround sound system. I guess there are worse ways to end a day

I have vowed to myself that I'm going to call it like I see it in this blog. F&%^ the PC crap that has infiltrated everything. I will admit that in the interest of keeping peace the last few years, that I have become a master of Corporate Speak, played politics, and in general picked my words so as not to offend anyone. However, what does this really do?

I'll tell you what it does. It waters down your real opinion, and makes it seem like you can't take responsibility for your own position. There is a place for tact, I know. I used to have almost no tact. (Ask my wife, she knows when I'm going to say something she won't like because I start it with "Honey (uncomfortable pause), whatever bad thing I'm going to say.")

Real players, movers and shakers, have definite opinions and aren't afraid to share them. Yes men are doomed to the middle ranks, rising only to the levels of their bosses acceptance. It also waters down our language. A garbage man is not a sanitation engineer. The cashier is a cashier. Not a customer service associate. If the title bothers you, work your way into a title you want.

Well that's enough of a rant from me. Post your comments, if you have the nerve.

 My First Blog Post

Good morning. I'm fairly positive that when you read this it must be morning somewhere in the world. There are only a few things that I'm certain, but I'm pretty certain about this point.
I'm sure there must be a few questions about the name of the Blog and my handle Rev. Tom.
One of my favorite sayings is "If ignorance is bliss, soandso is ecstatic." So I shall remove all doubts as to my own ecstasy, and write more than a few lines sharing my viewpoint.

Now for the handle. A few years back, a close friend of mine Frater VI (visit his blog at http://stealthofmediocrity.blogstream.com) asked me to officiate his wedding. So I did what any self ordained know-it-all does. I went online and got myself ordained. Through this, I picked up the nickname Rev. Tom. I really like it, so I kept it.

I'm a Discordian Libertarian, who works in the IT field, with interests that range from the occult to the obscene. Please feel free to ask any question, make any comments, or just to go to whatever hell you would like to create for yourself.

My first bit of shithouse philosophy is this:
Thou art god. Create yourself in your own image. Be who you are, and live your life according to your will (as long as it keeps no one else from living according to their own will).
