Of Ignorance and Bliss

 Falling off the EverQuest wagon

I have done it. I have fallen off the EverQuest wagon and am now once again addicted. For my friends who have been trying to get me addicted to WoW, I apologize for going back to EQ. It's nothing personal...

For those of you who don't know,  I was once so addicted to EverCrack that I played about 40 hours per week.  I even took vacation once so I could get my character advanced.  I was addicted for about 3 years, was sober for about 3 years, and I am now back on the wagon.  (Fallen to the Siren sounds of DW.)

This time things will be different...

I vow not to start a guild.

I will exercise for at least half an hour if I'm going to play.  (Body by EQ sucks)

I will make sure the kids eat.  (My youngest became adept at making bologna sandwiches when he was 2)

Chili Cheese Fries and Nachos are off limits during gameplay...

I will keep you posted.

BTW I lost 4 pounds last week.

 Wednesday Hump Day

Remember when you were back in grade school, all of the little titters you would make when someone called Wednesday Hump Day?  I know when I was in 4th grade, I found out what "humping" was, and I have laughed at the word ever since.

Then there was the wearing green on Tuesdays means youre horny.

Green M&M's make you horny.

The horny toad is still funny.  I wonder if he's happy?

Peeling the labels off of beer bottles without ripping it, then giving it to a girl means she'll hump you.

Scenario:  Your girlfriend wears green on Tuesday night midnight eating green M&M's and you hand her a beer label, are you in the money?

Does it count if you only have Skittles?  Does the shirt have to be all green, or does some green count?

So many questions...

 Life Opener

Life has many twists and turns.  I don't necessarily believe in fate, but I don't disagree with it.  There are just some things that you feel in your gut.  Those things that you know are meant to be.  Whether that is self fulfilling prophecy, or the Universe folding itself around a master plan is left to the ages to decide.

I truly believe that you must take destiny by the horns.  To see something so clearly in your mind, heart and being, that the world takes shape around it.  This is what differentiates people of vision from everyone else.  When you see the world as it should be, then make everything else wrap around that, that is creating destiny.

I don't know what my absolute vision is.  I know what some of the pieces are, and what they are not.  I found out recently that for me, ambition is not first in my life.  I came precariously close to losing the things that truly mattered, in large part because I made my ambition a number one priority.

I know now that for every decision you make regarding a relationship, it either withdraws from an emotional bank account or adds to it.  Very rarely is it neutral.  If you overdraw from that account, bad things happen.

I guess where I'm going with this is that each of us should figure out what their destiny is, and wrap their lives around it.  But you have to determine what is truly important to you while you create that destiny.  There is nothing worse than creating a destiny that is totally different from your values.

As part of my personal destiny, I am going to lose 54 lbs.  I currently weigh 204 and I want to be at 150.  I will be using the South Beach Diet as my diet plan.  Last year, I lost 40 lbs with this diet.  (I gained 10 back).

Anyone reading this is welcome to join me on this.  I will share some of my trials and tribulations for this quest, and I hope that some of you will share yours.

 Another day another dollar fifty

My friend Frater VI has made some poignant observations about career status. His blog at http://stealthofmediocrity.blogstream.com can be quite enlightening. Well maybe enlightening is kind of a stretch. Sometimes it can be endarkening, but really it's the same thing right?

Cheers Frater!!
